What is a Vibratory Feeder Bowl?
A Vibratory Feeder Bowl is used to feed and orient components into a single line to a discharge location. When it is useful to have all parts fed in the same orientation at a designated rate of speed, a Vibratory Feeder Bowl is typically used. A Vibratory Feeder Bowl has a spiral track inside of the bowl. As a drive unit produces vibrations, the feeder bowl vibrates, moving the parts up the track.
A Vibratory Feeder Bowl starts with a sheet of stainless steel. The stainless steel is formed into a basic Feeder Bowl. Once the basic Feeder Bowl has been fabricated, a technician will begin tooling the Vibratory Feeder Bowl. The tooling process varies depending upon the size, type and orientation of the part that needs to be fed. A drive unit is required to create the vibration necessary to drive the parts. A variable frequency controller is used to regulate the amount of vibration in the bowl. This ensures that the parts feed at the correct rate of speed.
A Vibratory Feeder Bowl is used in many industries such as pharmaceutical, automotive, housing, chemical and mining. Vibratory Feeder Bowls can feed various types of parts such as plastics, metals, and foods.
